Immediate opening for Nurse Practitioner (Psych) to support Naval Clinic at Camp LeJeune, NC

Qualifications:

• Degree/Education : Graduation from a master’s or doctoral degree program in nursing approved by an organization authorized by the Department of Education to accredit schools of nursing, with a focus in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
• Certification: shall have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as certified by the American Red Cross.
• Possess current certification as an Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Experience: Possess a minimum of one-year full-time experience within the past three years as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Licensure: Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Duties include but not limited to:

• In collaboration with the mental health staff, provide assessment, evaluation, consultation, examination, differential diagnosis and treatment planning for the following disorders identified by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders published by the American Psychiatric Association for patient populations between the ages of 17 and 65 years: uncomplicated mood disorders, uncomplicated anxiety disorders, uncomplicated sleep disorders, uncomplicated adjustment disorders, uncomplicated personality disorders, uncomplicated psychoactive substance use/addictive disorders, management of psychotic disorders and combat stress reaction.
• Perform the following diagnostic procedures: clinical interviewing, psychosocial history taking, mental status examination, physical examination including radiological and laboratory testing, neurological examination, multidisciplinary treatment planning, medical management as related to primary mental health care and psychotherapy treatment planning.
• Perform the following therapeutic procedures: individual therapy, marital therapy, family therapy, behavioral therapy, stress management, crisis intervention, group therapy, brief therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive therapy and bereavement.
