We are looking for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our team of top notch professionals!

JOB SUMMARY:

Occupational therapists (OT) are responsible for examining, evaluating, diagnosing, developing treatment plans, and providing prognoses for patients on an individual basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance of job duties.
• Provide educational information about occupational therapy injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote health.
• Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of occupational therapy treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Focus on the evaluation of strength, range of motion, coordination, endurance, and posture of each patient.
• Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify impairments and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Administer manual exercises, massage to help relieve pain, increase the patient's strength/ ROM, and decrease or prevent deformity.
• Work as a team with a variety of other professionals including physicians, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and technicians; all with the goal of reaching maximal patient functional independence.
• Understands medical practice policies/procedures, regulations, safety/injection control, and quality assurance requirements.
• Collaborates with patient, caregivers, family members, and other healthcare professionals in planning discharge from rehabilitation services.
• Confers and communicates with referring physicians and other appropriate person through the use of progress notes, letters, evaluations, meetings, and direct contact concerning the proposed course, progress, and discharge plan of each patient.
• Provides clinical supervision to therapy staff regarding patient assessment and implementation of treatment plan.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Compliant with HIPAA, OSHA, productivity standards and company policies and regulations.

EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven working experience as occupational therapist
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities

• Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
• Valid license to practice occupational/physical therapy, hand certification preferred
• BS degree or greater in occupational therapy

• Day shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Patients and staff are not required to wear masks, but if a patient requests that a clinician wear a mask during their therapy session, we will comply.

License/Certification:

• Occupational Therapy License (Required)
• CHT (Preferred)
