The primary responsibility of the Occupational Therapy Assistant I is to provide direct patient care under the direction of a qualified occupational therapist upon physician referral.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform patient care, utilizing correct body mechanics.
- Competent to treat a variety of diagnoses who may be infants, children, adults or older adults.
- Basic splinting skills.
Required Experience
- Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
- Registered or eligible for registration as an occupational therapy assistant by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
- Must maintain a current California Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
- Must have a valid BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- No experience required.
- Basic Windows and mouse skills preferred.
