Job description
Brighton Allston Congregational Church and the Allston Brighton Food Pantry in Brighton Center are seeking an Office Administrator. We offer $25.58 per hour for 40 hours per week with healthcare benefits.
Our church and food pantry actively welcome 2SLGBTQIA+ members, with a strong commitment to racial and environmental justice. Through our ministries, we provide food relief to thousands in Allston-Brighton.
We seek an Administrative Assistant to:
- Offer a compassionate, welcoming presence to all of our guests
- Bookkeep, including quickbooks, payroll, paying bills, donor receipts, etc.
- Enter data into QuickBooks and Breeze church management software
- Support our Finance Committee by providing regular financial reports to various church boards and committees
- Support our Buildings & Grounds Committee by:
- Managing contractors for major repairs to the buildings, including seeking bids, securing contracts, and coordinating payment
- Coordinating building rentals
- Managing building use scheduling
- Support our Grant Writing Committee, including grant writing, reporting, and tracking
- Communicate clearly and effectively via phone, text, email, social media, etc.
- Produce online and printed weekly communications
- Assist with all-staff fundraising efforts
- Other administrative duties as assigned
As communication is an important part of this position, strong English writing and editing skills are required. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Schedule
The Office Administrator will attend three committee meetings a month in the evenings (Buildings & Grounds, Grants, and Finance), and four Saturday fundraising events a year. Our church is closed on Mondays. The following 29 weekly hours are required in-person. The remaining 11 hours are flexible and may be worked in-person or remotely.

- Wednesday 9am-6pm
- Thursday 9am-4pm
- Friday 9am-3pm
Accessibility
Our building has two flights of stairs and no elevator. Offices are on the second floor of the building.
