Position Summary:
Adams State University is implementing a new Student Information System (SIS), which requires significant time commitments from existing staff. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to one of several departments during the two-year transition. This position will cover regular staff duties and may also have duties related directly to the conversion.
Each position is a twelve-month exempt, at will, full-time position to be contracted for approximately 2 years, based on available funding, reporting to the director of respective areas across campus.
Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities):

  • Perform general customer services tasks, such as in-person, telephone, and email communication and correspondence with customers.
  • Work closely with the department’s supervisor to support efficient operations by performing organizational and administrative work including clerical work, typing and composing correspondence, filing, answering phones, and responding to the needs of the department.
  • Maintain and create accurate records, both electronic and hardcopy.
  • Other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Special project work, which may involve projects like coordinating logistics of a departmental meeting, proofreading assistance, scanning documents for electronic record storage, assisting with detailed reviews of reports, and similar work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or two years’ experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
  • Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fundamental knowledge of MS Office software or Google applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Ellucian
Banner or Workday.
  • Experience working in an office setting, utilizing MS Excel to create spreadsheets and extrapolate data.

Conditions of Employment:
The position is a full-time, 12-month exempt at-will administrative position with benefits.

Salary and Benefits:
$36,000 annually; salary is commensurate with education, qualification, and experience.
