POSITION CONCEPT:
The Office of Family Life Assistant is responsible for assisting the Office of Family Life Director and Staff with administrative, technology, event planning and registration, and other Office tasks. This person reports to and supports the Director of the Office of Family Life and assists with the Office’s programs and ministries and needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the administrative needs of the Director
- Answer and/or field designated email and phone calls that come into the Office of Family Life in a timely manner, and sort and deliver daily incoming mail to all
- Host virtual Pre-Cana days
- Update and manage Office of Family Life website
- Establish and maintain Office data basses
- Assist the staff with ideas and action items to leverage the social media world while adhering to appropriate Office of Family Life and Archdiocese of New York policies and
- Assist in planning and participate in office activities and events
- Distribute flyers and send email-blasts promoting upcoming events, as
- Perform tasks given by the Director:the Office phone tree and auto-attendant programming
invoices and vouchers
coordinate venue and other event responsibilities
special projects and new initiatives as needed
other tasks as necessary
REQUIRED FAITH-BASED KNOWLEDGE/COMMITMENT:
- A practicing Catholic who accepts and is willing to abide by and give personal witness to authentic Church teachings, particularly on issues relating to the Office's mission to promote respect for human life, family and marriage, chastity and human
- Good knowledge of Church teaching particularly on issues regarding marriage and family, the theology of the body, and life
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is desired, but not
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, as this position is the ‘first contact’ for many to the Family Life
- Strong social and organizational skills, with the ability to work both independently as well as with a team of staff
- Strong technology skills with proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook) and some design software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Canva, Microsoft Publisher,
- Be open to moving beyond traditional boundaries and ways of working to new efficient (integrated) and collaborative ways.
- Experience working in a parish/diocese
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
