You will work in a call center environment (inbound and outbound) collecting debts and enforcing tax laws for the SCDOR.
Duties:
- Perform general collections duties to include the setup, review, and maintenance of payment plans
- Generate and answer telephone calls and correspondence for payment plans in addition to answering general questions regarding Sales & Use, Withholding, Individual Income, Miscellaneous, and Corporate taxes
- Conduct research of tax accounts and taxpayer information
Requires one of the following:
- An associate's degree in a business related field and relevant work experience
- A bachelor's degree in a related field
- Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
- Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Examples of common business or related degrees include accounting, advertising, criminal justice, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, health care management hospitality management, human resources, information technology management, marketing, organizational leadership, public relations, taxation, etc
- Career Development Plan: This position is part of a career development plan with opportunities for advancement.
- Background Check: SCDOR employees are required to comply with all SCDOR tax requirements and are subject to a National Criminal Background Check to include fingerprinting.
