Position: Older Adult Program Assistant Director (Full Time)

Department: Senior Services

Reports to: Director

Site Location: Brooklyn NY

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, implementation task designated by the Program Director.

Responsibilities:

· Manage the day-to-day operations of the office and all activities run by the Older Adult Program.

· Recruit, train, and supervise or oversee the training and supervision of volunteers.

· Work collaboratively with DFTA and with other Older Adult Programs.

· Develop and implement strategies to reach out to potential Older Adult Program members.

· Oversee the initial registration process, including intake and needs assessment

· Work collaboratively with other Senior Services programs

· Responsible for Case Assistance/ Information and Referral monthly record keeping.

· Log and input all Activities, Meals and Programs into Peer Place.

· Obtains information regarding trips, and on-site activities.

· Organizes and leads some group/classes/activities.

· Gathers, and maintains a listing of available referral sources to provide seniors with information on where assistance is available.

· Maintains liaison with community agencies, institutions, and groups, as well as other bodies relevant to the program, and services offered.

· Serves as group leader on trips both local, and out of area.

· Assists in recruiting, and enrollment of new members, and for updating of membership records /Stars Program.

· Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director or Executive Director.

Statement of Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Experience working with Older Adults
  • Human Services two years related experience or bachelor’s degree In Human Services four years of related experience
  • Experience managing multiple budgets and contract requirements
  • Experience working within a non-profit community-based organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing supervision of comprehensive case management services to a large caseload of a targeted population
  • Ability to Multi-task, organize and prioritize efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal and Professional presence
  • Knowledge of Entitlements, Medicaid, Medicare & Managed Care
  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
