Purpose:
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand chemical hazards.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Pass WSP and FBI Fingerprint Background Check.
- Desire to continue career improvement.
- Have Washington State Driver's License.
Essential Functions:
- Provide a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean building and grounds environment to ensure full and productive use of district facilities.
- Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with members of the school district and community.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Appropriately operate all equipment, tools and machinery as required.
- Have knowledge of construction techniques and procedures.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
- Requires climbing and balancing.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
General Responsibilities:
- Keep building and premises (including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas) neat and clean.
- Replace and/or repair minor plumbing systems in school district buildings as needed.
- Assist other maintenance workers when asked to do so by supervisor.
- Immediately report unauthorized persons to the supervisor.
- Immediately report damaged school property to the supervisor.
- See that district policies are observed at all times.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques.
- Ability to supervise other employees when needed.
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Blood Borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
- Report all hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
