POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Out Patient Registrar is to verify insurance and scheduling for rehab outpatients, perform outpatient rehab patient registration, collect deductibles and co-payments, and assist Outpatient Rehab Case Managers

SCHEDULE/SHIFT:

POSITION DUTIES:

• Completes registration, obtains signatures, and scans documents for all new outpatients
• Re-registers single discipline outpatients
• Collects co-payments and deductibles for all rehab outpatients
• Calls patients prior to initial appointment to confirm date, time, and attendance
• Receives and distributes referrals; helps maintain medical records for outpatient services
• Provides front desk coverage

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

• High School degree or equivalent
• Computer skills, basic math, ability to manage time and prioritize tasks, operate office equipment, ability to manage customers in stressful circumstances
• Knowledge of insurance plans
• Excellent Customer Service skills

Preferred:

• 2 years' college preferred
• Knowledge of therapy services provided
• Registration experience in healthcare
