Compensation
- Compensation Range for this role is $95,000-$115,000
- This position is a part of the BlueLinx STIP – Short Term Incentive Program.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and foster a good working relationship with Sales and Administrative functions
- Safety - Ensures a safe workplace for associates and visitors.
- Compliance - Ensures compliance in all federal, state, and locals laws pertaining to employment, safety, and DOT regulations.
- Manages a distribution center by providing excellent customer service support and using supply chain fundamentals (right product, right place, right time, every time) while controlling logistics, workforce management, indirect and operating costs.
- Customer Service - Fills orders accurately, safely, on time and without damage.
- Efficiency - Manages material handling and delivery operations using productivity metrics.
- Expense – Manages labor expense. Performs cycle counts and physical inventory according to accounting guidelines.
- Talent - Leads teams of materials handlers and drivers; selects/hires; develops objectives; coaches and evaluates performance.
- Ensures direct reports obtain applicable safety, compliance, and job training and development opportunities to enhance performance, development, and contributions to the company. Holds direct reports accountable for individual and team performance.
- Addresses performance issues appropriately and timely. May need to manage under the terms of a CBA
- Establish strong relationships with clients that will provide opportunities to grow sales and solidify BlueLinx’s partnership for long term profitability.
- May be responsible for delivery of large volumes of assigned product to targeted accounts in geographical area.
- Ensures effective product performance and promotes good customer and supplier relations.
- Promotes existing products, as well as presents new product opportunities to drive sales and profits.
- Knowledge of products, market drivers, competitors, sales environment, and store workings.
- Develops and builds relationships with internal business units including branches, replenishment/supply chain team, product management, and Branch Sales and operations team
- 5-+ years experience with BS / BA or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience in a distribution/manufacturing operation.
- Solid Leadership skills – communication, employee engagement and goal expectations.
- Ability to teach and lead an engaged team in a structured process environment.
- Process improvement and operating efficiency competency.
- Branch operations and systems knowledge.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools / technology.
- BS / BA Degree in related field preferred.
- Self-motivated, high energy, persistent, and sense of urgency
- Proven track record of operations success – ability to drive motivate the employee to preform at their top level.
- Demonstrated success in problem solving - must be creative, innovative
- Ability to organize and prioritize and work cross functionally
- Superior Interpersonal skills - proficient in both written and verbal communications
- Working knowledge of assigned product line (lumber), customer support/service, products and inventory management.
- Possesses well developed consultative selling skills, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
