Job description
A construction company in Pensacola needs a full-time Operations Manager to join their team . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for steady, full-time work with a company that looks after its employees and has potential progression routes for the right people .

What you’ll be doing:
  • Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and increase safety for employees at all times.
  • Responsible for daily operations including; production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the company's operations.
  • Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company and regional goals.
  • Generate and manage the operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of the Regional Vice President.
  • Lead team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning and effective recruiting and hiring.
  • Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to operate safely at all times and that all federal, state and local laws concerning DOT, safety, and other applicable areas are adhered to.
  • Monitor/control construction through hands on and administrative direction of the superintendents to ensure projects are built to their specification on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. Provide advice and support to sales during the job bidding process.
  • Manage Capital Expenditure Projects for assigned area.
  • Work with Regional Vice President to establish long-range goals, strategies and plans.
  • Assist with sales and marketing efforts exceeding customer expectations, and driving maximum profitability.
What you’ll bring to the job:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business
  • Administration a plus to have.
  • 5 yrs Construction experience is a must. Other related disciplines and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills.
  • Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Must be able to work independently and with groups.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints as needed.
  • Ability to prepare annual budgets and work with and/or administer budget; ability to answer questions and present financial data to Regional Vice President and others.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated success in managing medium sized group of employees.
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.
  • Ability to communicate with civic leaders and local, state, and national policy makers.
  • Able to stand, walk extended periods of time and lift up to 80lbs.
