Overview:
This work will assist the Government in strategic integration to counter WMD in support of CCMDs drive synergies to services and CCMDS. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.

SPA has an immediate or near term need for an Operations Research Analyst.
Provides complex analytical studies and activities, and interprets military operations for an agency and distills points of impact and relevance to the agency mission. Analyzes actual and predictable operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational evaluation of the utility and effectiveness of postulated forces in the context of specified Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and other operational employment considerations. Structures, develops, conducts and analyzes results from Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), wargames and/or Military Utility Analyses (MUAs). Tailors complex modeling, simulation and analysis techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, optimization, and other principles and disciplines to conduct computational analysis and develop quantitatively based insights and findings that will drive operational, logistic, and acquisition decisions. Provides integral support to the methodology determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, and analysis and quality assurance of modeling and simulation-based decision support system applications. Able to clearly explain the modeling methodology and logic implementation and translate results and findings into meaningful insights for clients. Adept at using visualization tools to help communicate complex concepts and findings. Conducts outreach and establishes iterative dialogue with operational users to gain their insights regarding employment of emerging technologies.
Expected Travel ~20%.
Required Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or related field
- 5-10 years experience in an engineering or scientific function, including research
- Knowledge of DOD, and experience leading analysis teams for strategic impact
- An active Secret security clearance with SCI Eligibility is required with the ability to maintain throughout time of employment
Desired Qualifications:
- TS/SCI
- MS or PhD
- More than 3 years of ops research in military operations
- Prior military experience
- Experience working at a think tank or FFRDC
