Job description
Optical Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Characterize optical components (free space and fiber based) for building laser systems (swept light sources, tunable lasers etc)
- Model beam propagation through optical systems using Zemax or equivalent optical design tools
- Couple near-infrared diode lasers into single-mode optical fibers and align through free-space electro-optic and acousto-optic devices
- Select and procure optical components, ensure compliance of optical components with requirements
- Design optical layouts for laser systems and beam delivery
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in the optical field including free space optics is require
- Free space optical setup design and alignment
- Experience with hermatic sealing packaging is plus
Qualifications:
B.S. in Optics or similar major
M.S. in Optics engineering with min. 2 years experience preferred
