Treston Security through Veterans Stand Together (VST) is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit organization that empowers veterans and their communities through cooperation, support and advocacy.

We have (3) divisions: a vocational division, a housing division and a homeless outreach/mental health division.

We are currently seeking an Outreach Coordinator (OC) to assist our vocational division. Incumbent would be responsible for the procurement and processing of veteran students/participants. OC will assist Admissions Director in creation and implementation of promotional materials, class procurement and event coordination.

Outreach Coordinator will work closely with veterans that are participating in our programs and monitor progress accordingly. OC will also work closely with partner organizations and employers to accomplish student placement outcomes.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Identifying, enrolling and assisting veterans with organizational programs
  • Creation and implementation of marketing materials, ie: flyers, ads and promotional emails.
  • Promote the curriculum sessions and tracking of attendee data obtained.
  • Monitoring student/veteran and course outcomes
  • Ability to research and learn new technology platforms that would assist the vocational team in maximizing virtual/physical inclusion and outreach.
  • Identifying individual barriers to employment and assisting veteran in overcoming these barriers
  • Working closely with local and area employers to secure job placement for program participants
  • Plans, coordinates and participates in telephone and mail campaigns, job fairs, community-based activities, site-based events, and other field marketing activities/events; at times, these events can take place on weekends or holidays.
  • Updates data in the various departmental tracking systems, and other reporting mechanisms in a timely manner and reviews the Events Calendar and program updates on a regular basis in department staff meetings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/Equivalency Degree (Required)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. (Required)
  • Excellent telephone skills and telephone etiquette. (Required)
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
  • Self-motivated and team player.
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and adapt to change.
  • Be highly organized, detail oriented, and an effective problem-solver.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, including ability to identify and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Careful and detail-oriented, with the ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for service to our communities and our targeted demographic (assisting veterans and at-risk individuals).
  • Computer literate including familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel). (Preferred)
  • Background in education, non-profits or customer service-oriented positions. (Preferred)
  • Experience collaborating with community-based agencies to promote programs and campaigns. (Preferred)
