The Ferguson Waterworks Strategic Infrastructure Group (SIG) is seeking the right individual to immediately fill an Outside Sales position to serve contractors primarily focused on building water/wastewater treatment plants and other similarly important core infrastructure facilities.
The coverage area of this position includes the following North Central States:
Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, & Nebraska.
Treatment plant contractors across North America have come to rely on Ferguson for our proven expertise, experience, and reliability in the waterworks industry. Additionally, we are the only waterworks PVF distributor organized with a national footprint to offer a consistent level of dedicated pre- and post-bid project management support to meet the unique challenges of projects within this market segment and the expectations of the customers we serve.

Responsibilities
- Work in concert with SIG resources and local sales teams to deliver comprehensive, accurate, and competitive material quotations and proposals.
- Estimating and independent quote development. PlanSwift takeoff software training.
- Develop and manage relationships with vendors and assigned customers.
- Problem-solving, risk mitigation and value engineering.
- Monitor sales trends to develop market specific strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and contract documents ~ plans, specifications, addenda, and purchase agreements.
- Moderate overnight travel, 4 to 8 days per month (estimated).
- Regular person-to-person interaction.
Qualifications
- 10 years waterworks or related industry experience.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license and domestic air travel documents.
- Technical aptitude with a water/wastewater products background is preferred.
- Proficient verbal and written communicator.
- Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft business systems and software.
- Good resource stewardship.
A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, respectful, and able to complete assigned tasks within a committed deadline.
This is a commission eligible role. The estimated total compensation range is $100,000 - $140,000+ annually.
