A Facility Maintenance Associate is a General Handyman who the responsibility over completing various repair within the warehouse, ensuring a safe environment. Main duties include performing routine maintenance, notifying management of need for repairs, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• General plumbing, electrical, motor repairs in a warehouse environment.
• Performing routine inspection and maintenance activities.
• Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements.
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating electric pallet jack or forklift preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision.

• May frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 75 pounds unassisted. When lifting more than 75 pounds, a lifting device should be used, or two or more people may assist.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack or other powered industrial equipment.
• Able to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours.
• Able to handle heavy equipment used for cleaning.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Must be able to work the assigned schedule.
• Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully pass a controlled substance screening test.
• Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
• Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop a working knowledge of the products.
• Must be able to work as a team and individually.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Attention to detail is key in this position.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, a Facility Maintenance Associate will constantly work near powered industrial equipment and experience exposure to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working on concrete flooring. Duties will require working in varying climates. Temperatures range from below zero in the freezers to 95F degrees or above outdoors. The shift’s start and end-time may fluctuate with the operation’s daily needs.
