Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods Corp is seeking a 1st and 3rd shift Packaging Team Lead who will be responsible for overseeing the packaging process and ensuring it runs smoothly. In this position you will engage and support team members by coordinating the daily activities of the department to ensure efficient production.

Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods Corp is a leading manufacturer of Greek and Mediterranean foods for foodservice, national chain and retail grocery, specialty, and warehouse club businesses. We have manufacturing facilities in Elk Grove Village and Glendale Heights. We manufacture and distribute specialty meats, flatbreads, dips, spreads, and sauces.

What you are going to be doing…

• Responsible for monitoring employee safety, team adherence to quality guidelines and standards, and area metrics.
• Some of the responsibilities include tasks like operating the filling line, loading stock, forming cartons, palletizing, kegging, and labelling.
• Ensure that all shipments go out in good condition and free of damage and make it safe to the storage area or distribution center.
• Communicate when production metrics are out of range; take corrective action to adjust production when possible.
• Advocate for safe working conditions, encouraging safe working behaviors and assisting with accident investigations.

What you need to have…

• Prior team lead experience in a production environment
• Experience in machine changeovers and equipment adjustments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Dexterity of hands and fingers with repetition
• Sensory capabilities to avoid accidents as warehouse environment involves fast moving forklifts and power jack equipment.
• Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Internet)
• Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment…

Manufacturing plant environment with varied temperatures including hot, cold, and freezer. The work environment includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on high places, and/or exposure to chemicals in work setting. Incumbents are frequently required to stand, walk, hear, bend, stoop, climb, crouch, kneel, reach overhead, pull, and push up to 50 pounds unassisted.
