As a packaging Technican 3 at Truner Road Vintners, you will Perform Packaging Tech I & Packaging Tech II tasks: Clean & sanitize equipment, apply good housekeeping practices, perform wine movements, top barrels, add chemicals to wine, operate less complex equipment, measure and calculate workplace data.
Compensation:
$23.56 - $31.83
Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
What you will do:
- Under moderate supervision performs basic operation and minimal troubleshooting on packaging equipment (ex. Helix, case packer, cap applicator, automatic wrapper, Domino Laser Printer, Cellar Operations, Filter Skid Operation, QC Tear Down, A3 Flex 400 Filler) including loading correct packaging materials into the machinery
- Safely and efficiently operate all assigned pieces of equipment production line to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintains the mindset that there is always room for improvement, there is always a way to do it better.
- Ability to keep work area clean, organized and Food Safety compliant. Responsible for general housekeeping duties and maintaining a sanitary work area.
• Responsible for routine production reporting and quality checks. •Must be able to consistently perform all in-process and final production quality control and verification checks.
- Responsible for compliance with E & J Gallo Winery sustainability policies and practices which are economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound. This is done by supporting programs at each location for conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling, which are critical for our operations to achieve tangible environmental results.
- Demonstrates situational awareness and a sense of urgency on the production floor.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency for Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
- Communicates effectively with team members, leadership and other departments.
- Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate; or 2 years of wine production or manufacturing experience.
- Required to be 18 years of age or older.
- Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar operations.
- Must be able to repetitively lift and uncase glass cases onto a conveyer belt.
- Required to work assigned shifts Monday - Saturday (day, swing, and graveyard) and Sundays and overtime as needed.
- Required to wear a respirator when necessary.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Required to comply with company GMP policies.
- Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Physical Demands:
Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the production facilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:
- Frequently stand, walk, kneel, bend, talk and hear. Lift, roll and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Reach, push and pull with hands and arms, twist and turn, squat and climb and balance.
Work Enviroment:
Works in all areas of winery where temperatures and conditions may vary. Works with and around chemicals, including (but not limited to) Sulfur Dioxide, Peracetic Acid, Laco-quat, Carbon Dioxide, Sterox and tartaric acid.
- The employee is frequently exposed to working at elevate heights; moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
