Job description
A small, local electronics company is seeking a part-time administrative support employee to assist with shipping, receiving, client support, and general admin needs. This is a great opportunity for a current student.

Location: Durham, NC. This is a fully onsite position as admin staff must be present to receive and handle shipments. Candidates must be local to the Raleigh- Durham-Chapel Hill metro area.

Hourly rate (W2): $15.00

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 1:00 – 5:00pm (~20 hours weekly). Some light schedule flexibility may be available; for example 1:30pm - 5:30pm would be acceptable, but the typical schedule must still eclipse the weekday afternoon window of need.

Education requirements: High school diploma, US driver’s license

Work authorization: Candidate must have valid US work authorization. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities:
  • Processing customer purchase orders
  • Checking emails for customer inquiries, and either answering them when possible or routing them to the appropriate person
  • Shipping customer orders using FedEx, UPS, and DHL
  • Answering in-bound phone calls. This involves routing calls to the appropriate department, taking messages, entering calls into the call log, and answering any miscellaneous questions the caller may have.
  • Receiving shipments
  • Managing inventory
  • Assisting with accounting functions and marketing
  • Other duties as necessary
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an office environment and working with customers is required.
  • Prior shipping experience, including FedEx or UPS is highly preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs is required to handle package shipments
  • Knowledgeable with MS Office and email
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Versatility. This position wears a few hats, and every day will be different.
