E Shaver Booksellers in Savannah, GA is looking for booksellers to join our team. The positions would be part time, to be scheduled 3-4 days per week (roughly 18-24 hours total). Our shop is relatively small and we are very focused on providing the highest level of customer service. The ability to talk about and recommend books is a must. In addition to helping customers, our booksellers are expected to have a solid understanding of basic computer skills, shelve and correctly alphabetize books, and generally keep the shop clean and organized (dusting, vacuuming, and cat care for our 4 furry employees). We're looking for people who are energetic, friendly, and self-starters. Our booksellers must also be good at working with others. We have a small staff so everyone must get along with everyone else. Opportunities for helping with events, social media, or other areas of the shop may arise based on interest and ability. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays (including but not limited to the days before and after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, the day after Christmas, and New Year's Eve).

Responsibilities

*Provide the highest levels of customer service by acknowledging and greeting each customer, answering customer questions, providing book recommendations, processing special orders, and efficient cashiering *Straighten and tidy the shop throughout the day, shelve books, create and refresh displays, do general housekeeping tasks involving cat care *Read and review on Edelweiss at least 1 advance reading copy each month

Qualifications

*Basic computer skills *Knowledge of classics in both adult and children's books *Previous retail experience *Cash register experience *Ability to handle cash and make accurate change *Customer service experience, both in person and on the phone *Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time *Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, or crouch to perform daily tasks *Must be able to lift objects up to 60lbs with or without assistance *Must be able to look at computer screens for long periods of time *Must be able to perform repetitive motion activities
