Job description
The Part-Time Private Branch Exchange (PBX), Operator provides telephone assistance to the public.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Answers all incoming calls to the campus
- Transfers external and internal calls to the appropriate department and/ or employee
- Provides general information about registration deadlines
- Maintains a daily record of all incoming calls to the campus
- Relieves Public Safety Dispatchers when necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
- All degree's must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of telephone systems
- Ability to answer multiple calls at the same time
- Possess computer and Microsoft Office application skills
- Possess excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to work independently and use time management skills in an intensely high volume office environment
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to effectively interact well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, staff, and diverse local community
Essential Position
- This function/position has been designated as essential. This means that when the College is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the College.
