SHIFT:
Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; additional per diem assignments available in addition to scheduled shift


THE ROLE OF THE PHARMACIST

Our staff pharmacists are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of pharmaceutical packages that are produced in our state-of-the-art packaging facility.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes final quality check of our customer orders to ensure proper labeling of all dosage forms.
  • Reviews the outputs of packaging technicians and provides constructive feedback to ensure customers receive the highest quality products
  • Ensures packaging is of the utmost quality, creates and verifies labels consistent with a high-quality pharmacy practice
  • Performs label checks and repackaging lot reviews ensuring compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Communicates with our hospital customers and serves as a resource for their clinical packaging needs
  • Collaborates with operations staff to suggest improvements in quality processes
  • Establishes new operating procedures based on current manufacturing and quality workflow including determining best resource utilization for providing highest quality products
  • Participate in new product development through interactions with hospital customers, understanding their unique packaging needs, and suggesting solutions to other members of the management team.
  • Work with hospital pharmacies on key quality issues such as better labeling for drugs that look alike, or sound alike.
  • Provide input as to the clinical impact of our products including proactive feedback on packaging materials and how those materials are used in hospital administration of pharmaceuticals.
  • Responsible for all regulatory obligations of the company including handling all DEA 222 forms for controlled substances and working with the DEA and FDA on regular inspections of the facility.
  • Duties include all management and supervision related to the handling, storage and shipment of controlled substances and all other pharmaceuticals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Current MA Pharmacy license or license eligible through reciprocity
  • FDA Food or Drug experience required
  • State and DEA regulatory knowledge preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in healthcare setting, management experience is a plus

  • Working knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of healthcare pharmacy experience is a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of Federal, State, and Professional guidelines, regulations, and standards as they relate to hospital and long-term care pharmacy packaging and operations
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Information Systems and Databases (HBOC, Meditech, etc.) is a plus, but not required
