We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patent Attorney with a background in Mechanical Engineering to join our legal team. As a Patent Attorney, you will be responsible for managing the patent prosecution process, drafting patent applications, and providing legal advice to clients in the mechanical engineering industry.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to Ohio Bar
• 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution and intellectual property law
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and terminology
• Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the mechanical engineering field
• Knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Draft and file patent applications for mechanical engineering inventions
• Conduct patentability searches and provide legal opinions on patentability
• Manage the patent prosecution process, including responding to office actions and communicating with the USPTO
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients in the mechanical engineering industry
• Draft and negotiate licensing agreements and other contracts related to intellectual property
• Conduct due diligence investigations and provide legal opinions on intellectual property matters
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff members to provide exceptional legal services to clients
