Job description
- Perform dissection, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens
- Perform specimen photography and radiography
- Perform frozen sections and other intraoperative consultations
- Procure tissue for tumor banking and research studies
- Identify, investigate, and resolve problems related to surgical pathology
- Assist with accessioning and labeling specimens
- Provide assistance to the orientation and training of residents, fellows, new employees, and Pathologists’ Assistant students in surgical pathology protocols and procedures
Note: this position is primarily stationed at CHS in Westwood, but on occasion, may provide coverage to the Santa Monica location.
Salary Range: $81,500.00 - $192,500.00/year
Qualifications
- PA (ASCP) certified or must pass PA (ASCP) exam within 12 months of hire
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must be able to work the occasional Saturday
- Must have the flexibility to work at both the Westwood and Santa Monica locations
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience, preferred
