La Clinica currently has open positions for Patient Service Representatives at our Health Centers. The Patient Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients and the front desk, answering telephone lines, verifying patient insurance, and providing support to the team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The Patient Service Representative is responsible for providing information and other appropriate paperwork to patients with verbal instruction on how to complete the forms correctly
  • Accurately collect confidential, sensitive patient information used for federal grant reporting
  • Enter pertinent data from completed client paperwork into a computer database for charting and reporting purposes
  • Accurately assign payor source to each qualifying patient visit
  • Assess all incoming patients toward determining eligibility for healthcare grants and services
  • Check-in patients for scheduled appointments
  • Coordinate with clinic staff to determine availability for non-scheduled appointments and ensure patients are seen promptly
  • Perform cash handling responsibilities including preparing receipts and collecting money for services, and preparing daily deposit
  • Order and maintain inventory of forms and supplies
  • Create and update forms, type and prepare correspondence, and maintain front office desk manual
  • Responsible for following workflows that result in capturing activities to meet patient engagement standards as outlined in the APCM program
  • Responsible for outreach efforts to ensure the continuation of OHP eligibility and engagement in La Clinica services
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months of work in a medical office setting or one-year experience in high volume direct public contact setting
  • BLS HealthCare provider (BLS Certification)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise, and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
  • Bilingual/Bi-literate skills in English / Spanish required
  • Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to the area of work (EPIC)

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of adult learning models

Pay: $18.50 - $24.25 per hour
