Tri-County Health Care (TCHC) is seeking
Patient Sitters with a passion to be part of the health care field. TCHC has been providing services to the Wadena, Otter Tail, and Todd county communities for nearly 100 years. You will join a vibrant healthcare organization that is growing with over 450 employees, five primary clinic locations, and a brand new main clinic site to be opened spring of 2023. We have several staff who have made TCHC their home for over 20 years as we are family-orientated, and passionate about serving our patients and are looking to add to our family.
The
Patient Sitter role at TCHC is
pro re nada (PRN), which offers varying hours, days, and shifts based on your availability. This position is perfect for those seeking additional hours beyond their primary job or while attending school. Patient Sitters are responsible for ensuing patient safety under the direction of the direct patient care staff commonly within the Med/Surg or Emergency Departments. Patient Sitters are vital in our workflow processes as they help aid in our ability to care for the patients.

Some responsibilities of the Patient Sitter include, but are not limited to the following:
- Reports all unusual conditions, responses, or reactions to nurse in charge of patient to assist with safe provision of care and documentation of care.
- Performs patient care activities as directed by the nursing supervisor and/or nurse in charge of patient.
- Provides for the social, psychological, spiritual, and safety needs of the patient when observing patients.
- Maintains patient room order as directed.
Competencies required:
- Strong oral communication skills with the ability to listen, understand, and influence.
- Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to customer service excellence.
