Paving Crew Members – Topsham, ME

Crooker Construction is looking to hire multiple safety conscience candidates with a strong work ethic and
eagerness to learn to work as part of a paving crew. A Crooker paving crew consists of the following roles:

Paver Operators

• Operate the paver to ensure proper installation of the asphalt mix on the project

• Three operators work together to ensure proper compaction and finish of the asphalt mix

• Two operators work together at the backend of the paver to ensure proper depth and distribution

Rakers

• Responsible for monitoring the joints and area behind the screed to ensure a smooth finish product

Laborers

• Assist with general manual laboring duties on the crew; dumping trucks, shoveling,

As part of a crew, everyone is responsible for the safe operation and completion of the project. Selected
candidates will have a primary role and responsibility on the crew but will also have the opportunity to cross
train on other roles.

Previous paving and construction experience is preferred. Crooker is committed to training the right
candidates. New to the industry? No problem! Candidates with a strong desire to work hard, learn a new
trade, and be part of a team are welcome too!

Positions are full time, seasonal. Year-round work may be available based on an individual’s desire to work
year-round and his/her skillset.

Requirements:

• Must have a strong work ethic and be eager to learn

• Must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to assist other crew members

• Must be willing to work long hours and weekends

• Must have a valid driver’s license. A CDL license would be a plus
