Job Summary
Brault is a practice management, billing and coding company exclusively serving acute care independent physician practices. A high volume privately held and family owned medical billing company, we are currently looking for an experienced, analytical and detailed oriented Payer Appeals Specialist. This individual will review coding quality for all payer initiated audits as well as all $0 payment Medical Necessity denials and draft and submit appeal letters to the appropriate payer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs audit review of payer audit accounts and payer medical necessity denials
- Works with management team on strategies to improve coding QA methods
- Provides written and verbal explanation of how the audit findings were derived.
Qualifications:
- Coding certification (CPC or CCS-P)
- 3 years Professional coding experience
- 1-2 years auditing experience preferred
- 1-2 years Payer Appeals writing experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of ICD9-CM, ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
- Excellent analytical skills
Salary range may be adjusted based on cost-of-living in applicant's state.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
