Established Independent Multi-Specialty Practice Seeking a Payment Specialist to Join our Team!

Our mission at BMC is to provide excellent care through a multi-specialty approach from prevention to intervention of potentially life- threatening health problems. The Payment Specialist will work at our High Point office location.

PAYMENT SPECIALIST

The Payment Specialist will represent the organization in a professional manner while ensuring efficient and timely posting of payments on patient accounts.

Duties:

• Processes daily deposits and electronic fund transfers.
• Posts payments to accounts within the instructed timeframe.
• Monitors electronic remittances for any payments not received.
• Monitors overpayments and underpayments and forwards explanations of benefits to Billing Manager.
• Scans all insurance explanations of benefits as needed.
• Distributes Billing Department mail as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as insurance documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.

Qualifications:

• Applicant should be well organized and highly motivated
• 3 years medical billing experience is Preferred
• Must have personal computer knowledge and experience with Word and Excel.
• Allscripts experience a plus!
