What you’ll do

  • The Payroll Analyst will oversee the payroll function in our organization and ensures payroll runs accurate and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Audit payroll files to ensure data entry in HRIS system for new hires, compensation changes and manager updates are entered correctly
  • Initiates terminations in UltiPro and adds to payroll reporting notes for the appropriate weeks
  • Communicate with employees and managers regarding payroll policies, practices, issues and questions along with provide training to all employees and managers related to payroll issues and practices. (i.e., timesheets, time off requests)
  • Send monthly and biweekly reports to division personnel as needed (i.e., overtime reports) and resolve any issues that come up as a result of these notices
  • Administer US payroll, audit payroll notes and coordinate meetings with payroll team to discuss compensation changes, promotions, bonuses, terminations, leaves and all special circumstances to ensure employees’ pay is processed correctly
  • Provides back-up support to Total Rewards Manager and HR Manager when needed
  • Process retirement contribution plans changes, addition, and termination of retirement benefits and maintain and review audit reports at least every two months to confirm accuracy
  • Coordinates qualifying life event benefit deduction changes with payroll team
  • Conducts periodic/scheduled audits for all active-term employees, salary changes and promotions to make sure they are all under the right department, and job code

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning payroll
  • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, payroll laws
  • Exceptional computer skills including advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with a larger payroll/HR/training software, preferably UltiPro (UKG) and Saba
  • Superior organization and project management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain an organized system of tracking, monitoring and prioritizing tasks and projects
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments and proactively anticipate needs
  • Proven ability to multi-task; Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment of competing demands and changing priorities
  • Detail oriented with ability to proof documents for accuracy and communicate detailed changes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain a professional, and polished demeanor
  • Enthusiastic and friendly, with a demonstrated client-service orientation
  • Strong problem-solving orientation and analytical skills

Bonus points

  • HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred
  • Payroll Certification is a plus
  • Experience with UltiPro (UKG) and Saba is a plus
