We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Payroll Clerk to join our team in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is a contract position with the potential for full-time employment.
Responsibilities:
- Gather employee work hours, calculate and process payroll for all employees
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax laws and regulations
- Process garnishments and other deductions from employee paychecks
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and 401(k) plans
- Prepare payroll reports and maintain accurate payroll records
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll records
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role
- Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
- Experience processing garnishments and other payroll deductions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other payroll software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of confidentiality and integrity
