Position Title: Payroll Coordinator
Reports to: VP of Workforce Management
Location: Maestro Consulting -Lincolnwood, IL
Job Status: Full-Time /Non-Exempt
Position Summary: Primary purpose of this job position is to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the payroll needs of the company. Oversight responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in implementing the day-to-day policies and procedures governing the payroll function
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll in timekeeping system.
- Check and audit timekeeping records; maintain time and attendance records
- Make sure that facilities comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
- Research discrepancies in payroll information and documentation in timekeeping and vendor websites
- Create and maintain all pay types, deductions, benefits and accruals, and union requirements.
- Maintain employee profiles in HRIS, process new hire paperwork, tax status changes, and direct deposit enrollment.
- Manage PTO and cafeteria benefits programs for each building in Kronos.
- Process, balance and facilitate the transmission of incoming and outgoing ACH files to all vendors and banks.
- Process incoming ACH authorization requests.
- Test new software upgrades to payroll HRIS system before implementing to payroll team.
- Escalate any technical issues as needed to Supervisor and or to the software 3rd party vendor.
- Generates reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, decision making and communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Demonstrates a superior knowledge of all areas of payroll.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft office products and Kronos
- Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience preferably in a healthcare environment. relevant work experience is required and that can provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities in managing all aspects of payroll responsibilities.
- Kronos experience highly preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or 5 plus year experience with payroll in a healthcare environment.
