Harmony Homes is hiring a 1:1 caregiver every other Saturday and Sunday, working with a gentleman who has Down Syndrome, Dementia and Parkinson's. We are a little bit flexible with hours. We could hire for 8-4, or 4-10 or 8-8pm. It can be a long day. (The opposite weekend the staff does 8am - 8pm.)

You will help him bathe/perform hygiene tasks, make meals, pass medications, play games, take walks, go swimming at the Courage Center, do some laundry and keep his room clean. You will help him with PT/OT type exercises and perform mentally stimulating exercise. Most importantly you will help him to enjoy his life. He is a true pleasure to be with. He is not aggressive at all. Although he is able to walk, sit and stand currently, and does not need lifting on a regular basis, it is sometimes required when his body is weak. This can be a physically demanding position.

YOU MUST be RELIABLE. We are a small licensed medical/group home facility. Staff who regularly have attendance issues are detrimental to our client and staff morale and effectiveness. Planned time off is encouraged, last minute absences are not.

You MUST have a reliable vehicle, driver's license and insurance. We drive clients in our vehicles and are reimbursed .63 cents a mile.

You must live within 15 minutes of the home. The home is in 55117. (Off 35E and Little Canada Rd.3

You must have care-giving experience. (That could be working with developmentally disabled individuals or the elderly.) Preferably, experience working with Parkinson's disorder, and the elderly.
Current Med Certification, First Aid/CPR and immediate start ability is a plus. : )

Pay: $20.00 per hour
