WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Peer Recovery services, which include but are not limited to, crisis intervention, community outreach and engagement.
- Services are delivered utilizing a recovery / person centered philosophy and orientation.
- Assist clients in articulating personal goals for recovery and determining treatment objectives.
- Observe the progress clients make toward meeting objectives and provide feedback to client and treatment providers.
- Face-to-face services that provide structured, scheduled activities that promote socialization, recovery, self - advocacy, development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills. Some services may be provided via phone or Zoom.
- Use personal life experiences as a recipient of services to model recovery and establish trusting relationships with clients.
- Assist individuals diagnosed with mental illness to identify, understand, and combat stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.
- Participate in relevant staff training and daily treatment team meetings.
- Collaborate with the team to support a culture where experiences and preferences are recognized, understood, and respected.
- Encourage self-determination and decision-making.
- Actively participate with other health professionals on an integrated healthcare team.
- Provide guidance and insight to program development from the perspective of a mental health consumer.
WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification as a Community Health Worker / Recovery Specialist (or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of start date)
- Work Schedule: 40 hours/wk. 3rd Shift 1am -9am.
- Demonstrated proficiency with interpersonal and writing skills.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance that meets the Indiana State minimum coverage requirement, and qualify for Company's vehicle liability insurance.
- Candidates must pass required background checks including county/state checks, fingerprinting, CPS check, sex offender registry check, and drug screen.
