PERSONAL CARE WORKER (PCW)
TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: OFFICE MANAGER/ NON-MEDICALSERVICES MANAGER RISK OF EXPOSURE TO BLOOD BORNE PATHOGENS— HIGH
DUTIES OF POSITION
Performs various service for a client as necessary to meet the client's personal needs, to promote the client's comfort, and a safe environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide personal care assistance with/in:
· Standby assist with bathing/showers
· Oral hygiene
· Shampooing
· Changing bed linen
· Assisting the client with dressing and undressing
· Skin care to apply lotion to dry skin areas
· Assisting the client with toileting activities
· Keeping client's living area clean and orderly
· Preparing and serving nutritious meals
· Assisting in feeding the client, if necessary
· Assisting clients with non-weight bearing transfers into out of bed, automobile, and/or wheelchair, to lavatory, and up/downstairs
· Medication reminders (The PCW/Homemaker MAY NOT ADMINISTER medications to clients under and circumstances.)
· Accompanies ambulatory clients outside of the home and serves as a guide, companion, and aide. (The PCW/Homemaker MAY NOT TRANSPORT clients in their own vehicle or the client's vehicle under any circumstances).
· Meeting safety needs of clients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
· Adhering to the organization's documentation and care procedures (I.e., the care plan) and standards of personal and professional conduct.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of six months experience as a PCW/Homemaker.
Meets the training requirements in accordance with State and Federal laws.
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
Licensed driver with reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order.
Ability to push/pull/lift 50 pounds, without restriction
Must have a criminal background check and drug test.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Overnight shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Pueblo, CO: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
