Job description
- Associates degree in a related field required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of professional accounting and human resources experience required. Prior experience in the educational or nonprofit setting strongly preferred.
- Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
- Professional approach to their work that includes very strong customer service skills.
- Strong technology skills, including extensive use of Microsoft Office, Google, and Accounting/HRIS systems
- Specialized skills in area to be able to work autonomously as proven through work experience.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices in accounting and human resources
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and to work effectively with people.
- Ability to work under stress and with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and staff.

- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
- Administer daily substitute and attendance process, securing substitute teachers, teacher assistants, nurses, and other temporary help for appropriate staff; posting attendance to attendance tracking system; and ensuring that the employee has submitted the appropriate form and/or documentation. Act as liaison with supervisors on daily attendance status.
- Assist with benefits administration and attendance/leave processes to include claims resolution, change reporting, leave of absence and attendance administration and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Compile substitute pro records for payment. Prepare a report summarizing the use of substitutes for approval and submission on a bi-weekly basis.
- Monitor leaves of absence for the MCIU's employees to include eligibility, notification, and record keeping; support compliance with all leave MCIU policies, and local, state and federal legislation regarding leave time and benefit eligibility.
- Process employee absenteeism including administering the requirement for documentation and issuing appropriate reminder and dock notices, and preparing periodic reports and inputting into Input data into e-finance system.
- Recommend procedures to Director of HR to ensure compliance with attendance policies and to reduce inappropriate absenteeism.
- Track and monitor required staff clearances, certifications and licenses, mandated trainings, and/or other credentials are obtained and updated in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Utilize various computer applications and software packages; update and maintain personnel data in all human resources (HRIS) systems and databases, audit data, create and compile reports from databases, run periodic reports as needed, and ensure data accuracy across all HR systems.
- Maintain personnel files and related documents in compliance with state and federal laws and district policies including paper and electronic files, I-9 forms, and employee medical files.
- Provide HR recruitment, hiring, and onboarding support for IU and partner organization staff.
- Serves as a resource to employees for information on personnel policies, procedures, and rules.
- Assists in preparing ad hoc data reports to the Director and/or Assistant Director.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director.

The Personnel/Attendance Specialist is responsible for duties related daily substitute and attendance process as well as various functions supporting the benefit administration and personnel processes of the IU and partner organizations.

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260-262 days/year). Hours are 6am to 2pm (some virtual/remote work allowance as part of daily substitute process)
Salary:
$47,100/year - $55,412/year
($25.78/hour - $30.33/hour)
