Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures regarding the preparation and storage of inpatient and outpatient medication prescribed by members of the Medical and Dental Staff.

Responsibilities:

• Assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications
• Maintaining drug inventory and patient records
• Picks up orders, requisitions and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician certification required. PTCBA or NHA accepted and must be NYS Pharmacy Technician registered.
• Experience in an acute care facility Pharmacy department strongly preferred
