Position Description:

The Mine Maintenance Tool Room Technician is responsible for managing all tool room activities and fully supporting the Mine Maintenance department. This job role is not specific to just the tool room, the tool room technician will also support the Maintenance shops which is outlined below.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining 5’s housekeeping standards and work area cleanliness.
• Responsible for checking and maintaining fire extinguishers, first aide cabinets, eye wash stations and So2 monitors monthly.
• Support the shops with supplies & parts daily to help the technicians avoid wrench time stoppage.
• Check the sling rack and lifting eyes/cleaves weekly to ensure the sling rack is supplied adequately.
• Manage our mirror inventory and ensure mirrors are made up and ready for technicians to install.
• Build and maintain hoses to support shop & field technicians.
• Manage all NGM owned tools and property assigned out and track inventory daily.
• Rebuild and manage tools to maintain safety compliance and reliability.
• Make and track reflective number inventory for the major mining fleet.
• Must demonstrate a high level of competency to complete tasks efficiently and timely.
• Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset looking for department or site improvements.
• Interact and collaborate with crews/supervision daily to fully support Mine Maintenance.
• Additional tasks may be assigned to meet the needs of the business.
  

Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of mining experience.
• Maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines .
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate safety in the workplace.
• Competent computer skills including SAP, Element, MSC Login Access and Outlook .
