Job description
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist youth in completing medical paperwork as necessary.
- Assist youth in scheduling medical appointments.
- Follow up on medical referrals. Enroll youth in State Insurance and HMOs.
- Accompany youth to appointments when necessary.
- Create and monitor medication logs and order refills as needed.
- Facilitate educational sessions to youth on relevant medical topics utilizing community partners.
- Provide wellness programming to the youth in collaboration with the Dove Learning Center staff. Work collaboratively with all team members to communicate youth physical wellness progress and enhance overall case planning efforts.
- Oversee youth activities and motivate youth for youth engagement.
- Participate in committees and special projects as directed by the supervisor.
- Ensure a safe, healthy environment, which reflects Covenant House principles.
- Maintain agency cleanliness standards.
- Document all pertinent information regarding all client interaction, progress and outside agency contact.
- Complete all status and grant related documentation.
- Assists as needed with fundraising affairs and special events, which may be conducted outside the employee’s normal work schedule.
- Applicant Must be available to work the following schedule: Monday thru Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Applicant Must be fully vaccinated for Covid 19.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service or 2 years’ experience in working with youth and or community relations preferred.
- Excellent communication and crisis management skills and the ability to handle physically challenging situations.
- Excellent assessment and judgment capabilities.
- Valid NJ Driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
