Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty, and urgent care locations in and around Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. The system provides acute care services including cardiac, pediatric, women’s, emergency, surgical and behavioral healthcare.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Physician Assistant shall provide professional medical services to patients at the Northwest Texas Physician Network (NWTXPN) clinics in accordance with professional standards of quality. Physician Assistant shall perform all duties and services under NWTXPN's general direction, control, and supervision; however, NWTXPN will not impose other employment duties or constraints that require Physician Assistant to infringe the ethics of the medical profession, violate any law, or practice outside Physician Assistant specialty and experience. Physician Assistant retains the right to exercise Physician Assistant independent medical judgment in providing care of patients with whom he/she comes into contact or shall work cooperatively with NWTXPN’s administrative staff. Physician Assistant shall abide by all NWTXPN policies and procedures, as adopted and updated from time to time. Physician Assistant shall provide services to all patients regardless of their race, sexual preference, religion, gender, or ability or inability to pay and any other class protected by law.

Qualifications
Requred Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable):
- Current license or permit to practice as a physician in the state of Texas and maintain throughout employment
- Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rule and Regulation
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas and maintain throughout employment
- Current Adult Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the State of Texas and maintain throughout employment
- minimum of 12 months of current nursing practice in specific specialty area in which the nurse will practice advanced nursing
- Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rule and Regulations
- BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire and maintain throughout employment
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read, write and converse in English
- Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
- Ability to remain calm and composed under stress
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
- Bending, crouching, hand/finger dexterity, kneeling, lifting/carrying (25 lb. minimum), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling, stooping, twisting, prolonged standing and/or sitting
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks under deadline and short notice requirements
- Travel may be required
- Provide scheduled on-call coverage
