Job description

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

Fixed Assets/Project Accounting

  • Plan and monitor capital expenditure
  • Summarize capital expenditure plan for plant > ( Preparation & Authorization )
  • Monitor capital expenditures against CAR and or plan and or Internal Order for plant
  • Decide on capitalization of assets and settlement of CIP
  • Interact with program controller & CBUs for plant to create correct input
  • Decide on adjustments and retirements
  • Provide information to BBC for write-offs, retirements, valuation and work-in-progress accounts
  • Apply for and manage capital grants
  • Assist in the application and reporting of capital grants
  • Verify fixed assets inventory and request adjustments

General Accounting

  • Review and validate monthly, quarterly and yearly close
  • Adjust balance sheet accounts for accruals and prepare additional journal entries
  • Define allocation methodology
  • Review trail balance for correctness
  • Provide journal entries to BBC
  • Adjust balance sheet accounts for accruals
  • Allocation methodologies
  • Provide appropriate documentation for reconciliation purposes
  • Provide information about inter- and intra-company discrepancies to BBC if required
  • Prepare trial balance reports
  • Validate final Trial balance
  • Validate monthly, quarterly and yearly close
  • Reconcile Hyperion to SAP
  • Reconcile Hyperion to SAP (only US-GAAP related figures/accounts)
  • Explain financial statement
  • Support quarterly and yearly schedules

Management Reporting

  • Prepare and evaluate variance analysis
  • Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results to budget / forecast
  • Analyze business performance by Plant/ Platform
  • Prepare financial support for capital appropriation requests for plant
  • Develop and distribute management reports for local management

Cost Accounting/Inventory Accounting

  • Perform inventory accounting
  • Develop and monitor inventory accounting work instructions for materials and supply at plant level based on CFS instructions
  • Account for all inventory movements
  • Reconcile after physical inventory
  • Value in inventory
  • Provide support for appropriate taxes and exercise rates to CFS
  • Calculate appropriate accruals together with CFS
  • Analyze and report stock / inventory losses

Consolidation

  • Prepare and distribute financial information

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Prepare, develop and review financial budget and forecast
  • Develop financial planning and budgeting work instructions at plant level
  • Prepare financial budgeting assumptions for the plant
  • Develop financial forecasts
  • Review profit plan and forecasts with local management and Operations organization
  • Work together with CBUs and Operations to receive and verify budgeting assumptions

General

  • Apply, execute and maintain function related BOS issues
  • safety/ergonomic committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in Blue Sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events.
  • Complete safety inspections, employee observations, and monthly safety training as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Knows the applicable Customer Requirements, understand the impact of not conforming to customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 8+ Years working experience in an Accounting or Finance position, automotive industry preferred.
  • Fluent in MS Office applications, expert in MS Excel. Experience with SAP and Hyperion applications preferred.
  • Familiarity with Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations; ability to work under deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings by verbal or presentation format.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
