Plant Manager


We are looking for a hands-on manager for our growing manufacturing plant in Crystal Lake. This is a smaller facility with the potential to continue growing under the leadership of the right person. WHAT WE WILL ASK YOU TO DO:

  • Ensure that production standards are met.
  • Work with Lead Engineer to ensure production standards are met.
  • Meet and lead a team of supervisors and assembly workers.
  • Communicate with VP of Operations and any affected parties any issues or delays in manufacturing parts.
  • Establish standards and controls while maintaining optimum production output.
  • Effective and efficient utilization of people resources.
  • Oversee selection and career management of production employees, striving to retain high quality individuals.
  • Maintain a positive working environment for employees.
  • Monitor, evaluate and be responsible for the overall operations, responding and reporting to the VP of Operations for any emergencies that occur.
  • Oversee the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and standards set by corporate policies.
  • Work with sales and customer service teams on new orders to ensure the plant’s capabilities and the correct raw materials are used.
  • Work with VP of Operations to ensure the profitability of parts that need to be examined due to marginal pricing.
  • Assist VP of Operations with fostering growth.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Ability to make timely decisions regarding complex matters.
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgement while providing reasons for decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong record of developing future leaders.
  • Great at building relationships.
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

DEMANDS OF THIS POSITION:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Could require some work during off hours.
