The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the operation, surveillance, and troubleshooting of Nitrogen/Helium Processing Units and associated equipment. Candidates must be able to relieve other Technicians, respond to callouts and work assigned shifts.

This position is for a Plant Operator position for IACX Roswell, Operating and Maintaining Nitrogen Rejection Units, Helium processing units and associated equipment. Applicant will be required to work shifts of two weeks (7 days) of 12-hour shifts, then one week off. Upon completion of training

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: may include any or all the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Candidate must be able to work independent with little or no supervision and be responsible enough to do the required tasks without being supervised.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety (personal safety, co-workers, contractors and the public)
  • Validating and inputting Plant, meter and compressor readings and downtime
  • Track health of equipment by reviewing temperatures and pressures
  • Represent the company in a professional manner always while performing all assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
  • Communicate with management
  • Ensure all equipment is in clean and presentable condition
  • Assist Mechanics as needed
  • Perform any additional, miscellaneous tasks as delegated

Skills/Capabilities/Education:

  • General knowledge of machines and tools, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the repair of compression units.
  • 1+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of one year in a vocational/ technical training or apprenticeship program is preferred but not required
  • Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction; take responsibility for own actions; keep commitments; complete tasks on time or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop solutions.
  • Proven ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Mechanical intuition or ability
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Manage time between several different stations

Conditions:

  • non-traditional working hours are required
  • Must be able to stand or walk on uneven terrain, climb personnel stairs and ladders, stoop, squat and/or crawl depending on the directed task
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions and environments on a location-by-location basis
  • High noise environment (>85 dB) will occur with ear protection
  • Potential controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Safety first regardless of the site conditions

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Additional Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Competent in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, etc.)
