JOB SUMMARY: The planting associate supports the planting department of all the bio farm areas following sustainable planting practices. The planting associate works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. He/She must be self-motivated and take the initiative on daily tasks. The planter reports to and takes direction from the Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aligns nursery tables near planting stations
- Transports pots from propagation trays to the growing lines
- Handles both full and empty propagation trays
- Throws away excess pots
- Unloads gutters from growing line wagons
- Meets a minimum production level of 130 pieces per hour
- Assists in Bio Farm Department as needed
- Reports any departmental discrepancies or problems to the Operations Manager
- Adheres to Food Safety guidelines
- Reports and is accountable for notifying the Operations Manager of observed safety concerns
- Maintains a clean working environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience: 1- year experience working in a Greenhouse environment or growing organic herbs and microgreens, knowledgeable of primary organic herbs production including harvest and post-harvest.
- Language Fluency: No specific language requirements; bi-lingual English/Spanish fluency preferred.
