U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated building maintenance services company, is currently accepting resumes for the position of Plumber for its Philadelphia, PA location. This position is responsible for the operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitary drainage systems, pumps and fixtures (standard and security styles); Duties involve: assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes; Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations; Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe; Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections, and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level and plumb bob; Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools; Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine; Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand; Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools; Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints; Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking; Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, water fountains, and water softeners; Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains; May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
We are currently in need of 2 Plumbers; one to work Sun-Thurs 8am-4pm and the other to work various days 4pm-12am)
May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience required: include the following:
- Basic literacy and the strength and dexterity required to perform heavy lifting tasks
- Must have HS diploma
- Minimum five (5) years experience in the plumbing trades;
- Licensed at the Journeyman level in the City of Philadelphia
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- Must have a history of safe work practices and training.
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Management, our customers, contractors and co-workers.
- Must have a willingness to learn new skills and assist co-workers.
- Valid Driver’s license
