Gibson Plumbing Company, established in 1954, is a full service residential and multifamily plumbing company serving San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston and surrounding areas providing quality plumbing services.

Our growing plumbing company is in search of an individual to fill an open multifamily Superintendent position in Austin and surrounding area, Texas. Gibson Plumbing Company staffs every job with an onsite superintendent who is responsible for all aspects of multifamily plumbing to include managing and quality control of the subs work for an individual job. As a Site Supervisor, your responsibilities are whatever is needed to fulfill the scope and schedule of your job, and to complete it per code, prints and under budget within the guidelines of Gibson’s protocols. The successful management of the job you are assigned relies on your self-discipline and attention to detail.

Applicants must be a Texas licensed Master or Journeyman plumber and has a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing jobs.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to determine exact specifications and where plumbing system will be installed.
  • Determine water supply networks and waste drainage systems.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager on installation and material requisition.
  • Install systems used to transport water, waste, gases, or liquids.
  • Ensure legislation and policies are met and that systems are up to code.
  • Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes and safety.
  • Cut openings in structures in preparation for pipes.
  • Select all materials needed for installation, including type and size of pipe.
  • Accurately receive, unload and store material needed for installation.
  • Control and select material needed for daily installation by sub crews.
  • Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle
  • Apply and observe pressure gauges for proper testing.
  • Test pipe systems and fix leaks.
  • Repair and maintain water treatment equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and grade.
  • Follow all protocols set forth and implement them on every job you are assigned to.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current state Driver’s License
  • Able to climb 10 flights of stairs and carry 50 pounds.
  • Spanish speaking a plus but not required.
  • Multi-tasking and time management abilities.
  • Excel knowledge, iPad familiarity

  • Current Journeyman or Master’s license issued by the state of Texas.
