Dr. Bodman Podiatry Associates is a small family podiatric practice in the Fairview Park area. We have been in Fairview Park for over 30 years. We have an opening for the position below:

Position: Medical/Podiatric Assistant

Availability: Part-time with varying hours per week, approximately 8-20 hours/week

Experience: None necessary but preferred. Will train as needed.

Pay rate:

Benefits: Optional 401 K

Attire: Clean and professional scrub attire with tennis shoes or similar closed toed shoes ( ex: Dansko nursing shoes)

Job description: We are looking for a positive and hardworking individual to fit into our small practice where are employees are part of the practice “family”. We need someone that is self-motivated and a team player that can work with our patients, as they come first in our practice. This individual must be courteous and professional to both the patients, doctors, and other staff members. We want someone who with learn and ask questions during their orientation period and then become a reliable and responsible member of our team. They must have reliable transportation to get to and from work as well as if asked to go to another patient care site, such as a nursing facility.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Rooming patients including assisting in and out of chairs or with assistive devices, as well as on/off with shoes/socks/etc. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Medical assistant will assist the physician at outside nursing facilities at least once per week and will need to bring patients and prepare them to be seen in that facility’s patient area.
• Taking vital signs of each patient
• Able to use technology/EMR system to input data as asked, such as PCP visits, current medications, medical history
• Assist the podiatric physician in procedures such as injections, wound care, casting, toenail procedures, etc.
• Clean and stock rooms and clean/sterilize instruments including autoclaving
• Perform ABI testing and foot casting after training as needed
• Perform finger stick blood glucose testing as needed
• Assist the physician with taking radiographs and validating patient information in chart prior to radiographs
• Be able to be a backup the front desk reception area, for answering phones/taking messages/making appointments/taking co-pays/maintaining HIPAA standards/other duties as directed
• Other duties as assigned

** Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen if requested.

Job Types: Part-time, PRN

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
