Overview:
LifeLong Medical Care has an exciting opportunity for a per-diem podiatrist to join our multi-disciplinary team providing primary care services at our Brookside San Pablo Health Center. The ideal candidate, under the general supervision of the Associate Medical Director, is responsible for delivering medical services to patients. Collaborate with team members in implementing and evaluating health center goals relating to patient care and quality assurance.

Benefits:
Compensation: per-diem rate is $82.00/hour. As a part-time and full-time employee, you would qualify for full benefits, including medical, dental, vision (including dependent and domestic partner coverage), generous leave benefits including nine paid holidays, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) retirement savings plan, and commuter benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose and treat foot and ankle abnormalities and soft tissue abnormalities of the leg
  • Perform in-clinic minor surgical procedures such as matrixectomies, biopsies, excision of lesions
  • Provide wound care and wound debridement
  • Perform injections, strapping, and casting for custom orthotics
  • Prescribe orthotic and prosthetic devices
  • Perform diabetic foot exams and appropriate preventive care
  • Provide routine foot care services for at-risk patients
  • Willing to teach medical or nursing residents
  • Prescribe medication, including schedule II, III, IV, and V
  • Complete patient medical charting and billing information promptly
Qualifications:
  • Commitment to a community health philosophy of prevention and primary care.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work compassionately with individuals from various socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Specialized Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing assessments, diagnosing and treating average difficult podiatry cases, including performing surgery, podiatric care of the diabetic foot, and diagnostic and treatment procedures in an office, clinical, or hospital setting.
Education/Certifications/Licensure & Experience

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) from a school of podiatric medicine
  • Currently CA licensed to practice podiatric medicine
  • CAQH PAVE/ORP
