New Challenges, Inc. is currently seeking a part time Positive Support Analyst to provide support and services to individuals served. NCI provides residential services to adults with disabilities at locations in the south and east metro. Positive Support Analyst duties will include implementation and development of positive behavior support plans, support during difficult situations and staff training of plans and data collection. This position also requires travel to different locations within the south metro area.

Additional responsibilities for this position will include the following:

  • Development of positive behavior support plans to teach an alternative, positive behavior that will result in an increase in a person’s quality of life and decrease of the challenging behavior
  • Ongoing training for staff on developed plans
  • Supervise data collection by positive support specialists and staff
  • Periodic reassessment and modification of the plan(s)
  • Use of person-centered approaches that incorporate a comprehensive, functional behavior assessment of both positive and challenging behavior
  • 1:1 meetings with individual served
  • Attend team meetings, provide feedback and communication with teams

One of the following qualifications is required to for eligibility for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or Ph.D. in a social services discipline
  • Qualifications of a mental health practitioner as defined in Minnesota Statute 245.462 subd. 17
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.

Additional requirements for this position include:

  • Minimum of four years of supervised experience conducting functional behavior assessments
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable vehicle to use while on duty
